Caroline Thorpe began her career with Redlake before moving to St. Catherine's in 1999 and after helping the club to promotion, she joined Arsenal in August 2000.
On her debut, the midfielder scored two goals in a 5–0 win over Tranmere Rovers and helped the Gunners win the domestic treble in her first season in English football.
Due to off-the-field issues, another spell with St Catherines soon followed before she made a move to Leeds United and Memphis Mercury.
After a break from football, she enjoyed stints at St Catherine’s, Shamrock Rovers, Peamount, and Raheny United and produced a player-of-the-match performance for the latter as the league champions beat Castlebar 3-2 in the 2013 FAI Cup final.
She soon rejoined Peamount before ending her career in 2016 after two seasons with UCD Waves. She won 24 caps and scored six goals for the Republic of Ireland women’s national team.
