Karen Duggan began her playing career with her local ladies' football club Piltown although she would also play for Kilkenny GAA in the 2009 All-Ireland Minor Camogie Championship final where they defeated Clare.

But football was her true calling and she progressed into the Women’s National League in 2011 when she got the opportunity to join Peamount United.

She was named WNT Player of the Year in 2016 during her time at UCD Waves but it was with the Peas that she enjoyed the majority of her success, winning three leagues, two WNL Cups and one FAI Cup to date.

Duggan won 35 caps for her country having made her senior international debut against South Africa at the Cyprus Cup in 2013 before calling time on her international career following the conclusion of the FIFA 2019 World Cup qualifying campaign.
