Liam George started his football journey in the youth ranks at his local club Luton Town.

He represented the Republic of Ireland at all youth levels but it was with the under 18s where he enjoyed his finest moment in a green shirt.

The striker played a key role as Ireland reached the UEFA Under 18 Youth Championships final where they would meet Germany and then on the night when the game went to penalties, it was George who slotted home the winner to secure a historic triumph for his country.

He achieved that success during his five seasons with Luton but over the rest of his career- which was impacted by severe injuries - he would go on to represent a whopping 20 clubs in Ireland, the United Kingdom, and the USA before earning a physiotherapy degree and starting his own company.
